In rereading Evidence Dismissed, I see that no documentation was ever given (like a contract for service) in trial.
It says that the thing beeped and had a phone number. Lange wrote it down. He had Someone Else call the number. Found that it was Stuart Tanner.
In the endnotes, they claim that there was actually a Message on it from Tanner asking why Ron didn't show up the night before.
However, I have also heard that he called because Ron didn't meet him for breakfast or show up for work.
But the bottom line is that no documentation or ID by anybody was actually given in court that this was in fact Ron's pager.
However, this group of guys that were friend's of Ron's had worked at the Pizza place just as he had. This group of guys all knew each other and a call from the Mezz on somebody's pager may have been something other than Tanner calling Ron.
I would believe this more if we had in fact had an actual ID of the pager as being his.
This is one of the Many FAILED investigations in this case.
