I noticed a conserted effort to make Ron the second banana here. I realize that Nicole was the star--the name victim--but it goes into other areas in the book.
Lots of concern--stated at any rate--that Nicole's family not learn of the murders over the television but even when they knew who Ron was, there is no effort whatsoever to contact his folks, a possible roommate--nothing, nada, zip.
They put if off--get this--that because Radcliff had ID'd him--it was now the coroner's job to notify the family. And Ratcliff didn't ID Nicole? Ha! Maybe Fuhrman did. At any rate, it was silly. As if the press couldn't learn from neighbors or Mezzaluna people who it was and tell it?
Repeatedly there was detailed descriptions concerning NIcole but when they got to Ron they were less than forthcoming.
I personally believe it was deliberate and it was an attempt to underplay Ron's significance in this murder.
