Don't know WHY she did it. This was on the Maury Povich Show. Povich was aware that the "public domain" knowledge of the story of the evening had her calling earlier. That's why he asked.
I have wondered. Isn't it Faye that claimed that Nicole was going to take the dog for a walk and meet up with Ron, etc. She told that as if Nic had just told her that.
This was early on --not later when she claimed she talked to her between 9 and 9:30.
I think Faye was just one of the morphed stories to come out of this case. It did not "fit" the DA's case for her to be talking to Nicole at 10:45 so wha la --it got changed.
This could have been an approx time or what time Faye thought it was or the End time of the phone call rather than the beginning time.
As I said earlier, LOTS of info could have been gained from a phone dump on Nic's phone. No need to go thru drug abuse center. If you recall also, Faye claims to have used a pay phone for the call. No bar to getting the calls from there. Acted like it was a big deal to get those records as well. It could have been done if they WANTED to do it. charlie
