This is from page 14 and 15 of Murder in Brentwood.
Page 14.
Riske led Ron and me throught the open front door, which showed no signs of forced entry. From the FRONT PORCH LANDING, Riske pointed to a bloody shoeprint heading WEST down the walkway. We could EASILY SEE the victims FROM THE LANDING. We were withing a COUPLE OF FEET of the female victim and several feet away from the male victim, who was now in full view.
(then he describes the bodies, their positions, condition, etc. and then says:)
Page 15 Riske lead us around the Front Porch and down the walkway along the north side of the condo, pointing out a trail of blooddrops to the left of the bloody shoeprints.
If This is NOT a deliberate misrepresentation of the layout of the condo, I don't know what is.
He is Deliberately speaking of seeing the bodies from the Front porch landing. In his description of what he does, at no time does he come off the front porch landing and come down the walkway to the landing above Nicole. He speaks of it as coming out the door and looking down---just as Vannatter did.
He also speaks of the shoeprints being to the WEST of them as they come out the door.
Folks the ONLY place that both of these things ARE POSSIBLE is at the OTHER front door.
Whatever place he came out of--I am not sure it even matters---but this is a deliberate attempt to make it appear that the front door is at the top of the steps withing feet of Nicole's body.
