I am watching the Blake investigation closely. MOstly to compare and contrast it with the OJ investigation.
I noticed that in the Blake case, the names of the detectives are NOT common knowledge as Vannatter and Lange's were in the first week.
I noticed that there has not been many Leaks from the police department. A couple of things have gotten out but can't be traced back to the police department.
Blake's lawyers EMBARRASSED the PD into investigating the background of the wife. Parks have complained about this but not a lot. He has blamed the media about it not the Blake's lawyers.
The PD didn't take Blake's car until several days after the murder. This (at least the Bentley) compares to the OJ case. It was one of the most stupid moves I have heard about. If in fact, this is the car she was shot in, waiting several days to get it, was ignorant.
Also not searching in the victim's house til later was also a stupid move---and they got embarrassed into that.
Another stupid thing. To dismiss out of hand that her background and lifestyle had nothing to do with the murder by the LAPD made them look ineffective and dumb.
This may get very interesting. Reason? I think many people WILL be looking and comparing the investigations. They will hold the cops to a higher standard post OJ...esp. the LAPD.
They will be under a microscope which is a good thing. I think REASONABLE people SEE that not searching HER house til later and not taking the car til LATER as something that is not good police work.
