Miss Marple, EXACTLY!!
It is NOT of a matter of MISremembering it, it is a matter of being Made Up.
In Evidence Dismissed, they say Vannatter found it at 6:40 when he is all by himself. Of course, MF says he was still there til about 7.
If you follow MF's book as to when he says the got to Bundy (7:00-7:15) and that he had to look up the photog and then get the pix taken, drive back, etc., it is 7:30 or after when he returns to Rockingham and they find the blood on the ground and in the Bronco.
And as I posted earlier, there is a BIG ole street light across from where the Bronco was and all those guys had their flashlights. And they all are looking for blood.
Another thing about that street light. That street light is there while Parks is searching for the Bronco as well and when he drives out of the driveway.
I don't know why, but until lately, I have pictured that street as dark. I think that was the impression we were LED to believe.
And one thing else, about the two driveways. I have read that in fact you can "see" from one driveway to the other. That may be a corner but the way it is situated, you can really see rather well to the other driveway if you are sitting parked in the Ashford Driveway the way Parks was alleged to have been. Also, he said he parked on Ashford for a while in a line with the Rockingham driveway for part of the time.
If you take the two books by the detectives and make a timeline, you can see that the blood basically doesn't show up til Lange has called the Chicago hotel.
Riske made notes. Were they ever shown in court? He made them prior to 5:30 I think. He was asked to do so and it seems by testimony, he went somewhere (the station?) to do them and then returned to Bundy.
I still believe the reason we didn't see them is because they didn't mention a blood trail either. They "might" (or not) mentioned the one drop prior to the front door but that is up for grabs. Fuhrman doesn't have them in his. He wrote his notes first based on what Riske told him and then what he observed.
Also in the same period, Lange calls the coroner's office and asks them NOT to come...and estimates a 8AM time for the second call to them.
Remember too that all these folks had cell phones and were calling off and on all night from hearings in the trial and those calls were blacked out and NOT available to the defense.
