I finished the book and I am more convinced that ever that Darden was providing clues--at least the the atmosphere and culture of the PD and DA"s office. ..if not more.

Example: In the end, the suspect's agent--a guy named Adler gets a job with a Multi-conglomerate. He was already the head of a top talent agency with mega bucks.

Were you aware that Jeffrey Berg, head of OJ"s talent agency took a CEO position with Excite just after the trials? Berg, who lived in Palisades (where the suspects lived in this book) also owned the buildings where the Ben and Jerry's was plus that whole section of buildings including where the CA Pizza is?

Or is it a coincidence that the DA had DEEP ties to some gangs due to being in one himself when he was young and they did his bidding? Wasn't there a "scandal" in the DA's office just prior to Garcetti taking office that there were gang members working inside the DA's office, etc?

Or connections to the gangsta music business and the gangs doing "hits" or that one of those Rampart cops (Durden?) is suspected of having ties to the murder for hire of that ganstra rap singer?

I don't think so.

All of this book takes place after the OJ trial because they mention it as being in the past. The book has 2 DA's in it over the time it takes place. It is not futuristic so it is within years of the OJ trial.

It is very interesting and well written and exciting.

I was surprised.

I don't think it a coincidence either that of the two"victims" (main ones) the woman is a beautiful woman who loves men ( a LOT) but when she drinks, she is mean and vicious and "fights". She gets thru life "blackmailing" people and holding things over their head threatening to expose them.
