The reason I wrote about the burnt blook smell was because I saw the place before the fire and was told the horrible smell was fresh blood smell, within a few days when he viewed the remains and the smell was so much worse I asked and they stated that it was from all the burnt meat because it was so fresh, my mind melded the first day where it was fresh blood, and then after the fire the cause for the first smell just became burned blood smell within my mind. I know most people don't even think of it. So desensitized from seeing bloody scenes on their televisions or movies and smell nothing. The idea of smell from it becomes absurd. I almost wonder if it has to do with as you said, the subconscious preparing the conscious mind to accept the smell and what is causing it. To those like Mr Larry Singleton in Florida he reveled in people's blood. He killed to have blood all over him. Gross.
