A big mistake most people make in solving complex problems is failing to work through the corollaries to EVERY proposition and the IMPROBABLE solutions. Sometimes they are the only ones that fit all of the evidence. If they do, the probably factor changes and the improbable becomes the most probable. Sometimes it becomes the only possible answer.
I'm glad you picked up on the pattern of overkill in Fuhrman's useful "mistakes." His Hypotheses of a Murder chapter was a big eye-opener for me, too. I strongly urge everyone to not only read it but to study it and compare it with the "overkill" of useful errors in his notes and in his drawing and the overkill of evidence left by the killer.. It's the same pattern. It all fits. --Jasper
