Kari,

No one was "caught" coming from behind the garage. This is a crucial point in proving O.J.'s alibi. So is Kato's credibility.

I'm pretty sure I did this before but it looks like I have to do it again...

Let's say that this box is OJ.'s house with the garage, the maid's quarters and Kato's bungalows on the right edge. Kato's bunglo is on the right corner. Arnelle's bungalow is out of the picture north of the upper right corner. The bottom right corner is the garage. the slide bar is the east patway where Fuhrman found the glove. The upper edge of the box represents the patio between the pool area and the house. The left edge is the pathway next to the house on the Ashford side of the estate. The bottom left corner is the Ashford gate. The bottom edge is the portion of the circular drive that leads to the garage.

Kato could not go directly to the pathway next to his wall. He had to go counterclockwise north on the patio (left from the upper right corner), all the way to the north pathway (the left edge of the box going up and down) and then west on that pathway to the circular drive. Here (at the lower left corner of the box) is where Park first saw Kato coming toward him from Park's left. They couldn't help but to see each other. Kato's testimony at this point matches Park's and the time Kato estimated that he went outside is within five minutes of the time that Park's telephone record indicated he saw him (Park was talking to his boss on the car phone at that time). Park said that he then saw Kato walking away from him toward the garage ( from the bottom left corner of the box to the bottom right corner). That also agrees with Kato's testimony.

This is the part that the defense team missed -- the part that PROVES O.J. coud not have come from the south path (the right corner of the box) when Park first saw him four or five minutes later. Kato was back there according to everyone's testimoy and his path never crossed O.J.'s. Park saw O.J. a few steps from his front door. He did not see him come out of the house but that's the only place he could have come from because Kato NEVER SAW O.J. when he went or when he came back from behind the garage and opened the gate for Park. That's when Park saw Kato THE SECOND TIME. Kato moved the dog aside and opened the gate for Park. By then O.J. was in the house. Again, Katio's testimony meshes with Park's and O.J.'s. Kato talked with Park for awhile, asking him whether he knew anything about an earthquake. He then went back to the path next to the garage and was standing at the second gate (he never opened it) along that path when he heard O.J.'s voice. Up to this time Park was the only one who had seen O.J. BECAUSE KATO WAS BEHIND THE GARAGE.

The only story about someone getting caugt sneaking around behind the garage is the one Marcia Clark made up about O.J. Simpson. --Jasper
