In the Medgar Evers case they found Byron De Le Beckwith's rifle or shotgun, whichever, was found in a chest owned by the deceased judge in the first of three trials which resulted in a hung jury. Bobby De Lauder, the D.A. who got the conviction in Feb 1994 found it there. The Judge was his ex-father-in-law. According to the movie. That kind of makes this a message that should have been put on Smoking Gun as they signatured the Bundy Case by taking souveniers. I wonder what else they took? Had Medgar Evers Widow not purchased and retained an official copy of the trial transcript the conviction would have never happened as the Clerks somehow lost the transcripts from all three previous trials.
