The M/O of the Bundy murders is only one of the hundreds of things I looked at and correlated to each other before I even seriously CONSIDERED Fuhrman as a suspect (I thought he had an alibi).
First, I gathered as much information as I could about the evidence and constructed a profile of the killer. I knew his approximate height (you can tell by the stride), his shoe size (size 12 Bruno Magli Lorenzo) and I new that he had military training (blows to the head together with thigh would tip-off to military kill), etc. There were a LOT of etceteras. They included a background in art (before I knew Fuhrman was an artist), a high IQ (the evidence is laid out like the first set of questions in an IQ test) and a thorough understanding of psychological principles like The Primacy Effect and Functional Fixedness. The killer had to have a thorough understanding of the system and he had to know how homicide investigators think.
Mind you, I'm leaving out a few hundred things here, which is why I wrote a 700-page book. I had to leave a lot of that book, too, or it would have been a 900-page book.
Palomares was 24 when Ron and Nicole were murdered. He was 20 or 21 when Nicole purchased the gloves that came out of the same lot the killer's gloves came out of. That's at least as far back as the killings had to be planed. Was he even on the police force then? What was his relationship to Ron, O.J. or Nicole? How tall is he? Could he wear a size-12 Bruno Magli Lorenzo shoe? Does he walk with is toes pointed straight ahead (or did he know enough about O.J. to simulate that manner of walking?)? Did he have an alibi? What did he have to gain?
So far all of the stores I've read about killer cops in LA have been about black cops or Hispanic cops. One story implicated a cop whose name could have been Jewish (with only his name to go on). In each case these people were friends or at least close associates. How about other killer cops in other associations like the Police Protective League. How about nazis? --Jasper
