I have no idea why it was used in this case, however, I do know that at that time Angel Pins were everywhere. People were wearing them before the murders. There was an angel shop that was part of a special "Unsolved Mysteries" that showed why they opened the shops, and clips of an old Angle movie. Just as the song about the Yellow Ribbons, and still when someone goes missing they show up, now Angel Pins are a two dollar item at most seven eleven type corner stores. Of course much more expensive pins are around that are angel pins but it is real gold. I wish I know why they associated it with this case but I don't
