The police got themselves in trouble for not admitting that there was a backup car at Rockingham as early as 5.10. I remember that as being a well guarded secret, as it would have blown their "Mr. Simpson's welfare - concerns about the children - death notification to next of kin" explanations and other phony reasons for scaling the wall.
Isn't it strange how Gonzales and Aston testified that they were shown the blood inside the Bronco just about when they arrived. None of the detectives claim they discovered the blood till after day break. Gonzales "saw" two large drops of blood on the console. Aston "saw" a smudge. At the same time. One wonders.
Gonzales and Aston were never called in the Criminal Trial but were called by the defence in the Civil. They were prepped by Petrocelli on the issue of the impound report only. They were hostile witnesses but sort of in an childish way. They didn't't want to help the defendent, but also were inexperienced liars.
I remember pictures in the press with people around the Bronco and thought if there was blood inside, somebody should have noticed. Miss Marple
