John,

While reviewing your posts it occurred to me that no amount of tutoring in how to read different kinds of diagrams drawn for different purposes is going to change your mind. It also occurred to me that you not only have no idea of how much work is involved in meeting your demands (it can't be done correctly on this diagram) and how much more importance it attaches to the office than anything else in the drawing -- you don't care.

Just for the record I have to make it clear that only the area bounded by the front of the property on the east, Ashford on the north, Rockingham on the west and the Salinger's driveway on the south are drawn to scale. The best I could do with the rest of it was to put things as close as I could to where they were in relationship to each other and label them so that they could be read clearly. But once I understood why you were so adamant about the office being in the wrong place, it slowly began to sink in that I could probably give you what you wanted to see without making the wholesale changes in the rest of the drawing that would be necessary to do it right. You wouldn't notice the difference, you wouldn't listen to the explanation and it wouldn't matter to you anyway as long as you saw what you wanted to see.

I think you can declare a victory. I have put it in a folder where Keth can get to it. He should have it up on the sight within a day or two.

Even though the change opens up a can of worms (and a barrel of red herrings) with respect to the inner configuration of the other bungalows, the size of the air conditioner, the location of the gate relative to the air conditioner, etc.), it puts the office inside of the rectangle. Never mind that we don't really know what that rectangle looks like (the office inside of it creates the illusion that we do know and gives undue weight to the size and shape of the other bungalows) I think that the change will make you happy. I it doesn't, I strongly suggest that you draw your own (or have it drawn by someone you trust to do it right) and I will be happy to put it in a prominent place so that no one can miss it. --Jasper
