The Jeep was found (in the pix) to be in the driveway partly over the top of the coins and the last blood drops which has always implied to me that it was put there After the murders. I mean the photo was taken of the Jeep in the driveway but had been on top of those things. They said they moved it and that when they did it was not on top of them. I find that unlikely.
Like you, I believe it wasn't there--not in the driveway anyway. Stein also says she does not see the Jeep that night--only the one cop car in the alley.
Nicole's neighbor told Bill Schreck on the phone that she neither put it in the garage nor parked it on the driveway but instead parked it where Ron's borrowed car was found the next day. THAT was her usual place to park it. That back area was the only play area that the kids had of any size. It is where she also often saw Ron and the kids and the dogs playing.
It could well be that they moved it out of the garage or they moved it from the street and didn't realize that they parked over top of part of the evidence til later.
Or it could be one of the killers moved it there after the murders and didn't realize that either. But I don't think so since so many people didn't see the car. Neither did the guy at the end of the alley with the clock on the tv--I don't recall his name.
If there was nothing wrong with Stein's view (and she wasn't asked that question by either side), the car was not there at a little after 12.
