Charlie-
I have been pondering Karpf and Stein also. There may have been a reason Karpf got the mail and Stein did not. Maybe he had the only key to the mailbox (assuming it needed a key). I have searched for pictures which would show where this mailbox was and if it was like the one Nicole had. No luck yet. I plan to look for it when I go to LA next month.
There is an odd statement by Stein that strikes me as strange. She is being asked a question about being awake when Karpf came home and she says " WELL, BY THE TIME HE CAME OVER, I WAS ALREADY AWAKE." It made it sound like he did not live there. Yet both testify that he does live there and say he parks in the garage.
One other thing that strikes me as strange is Karpf's plane was due in at 9:30 (he says). It arrived late but did Stein know that? If it normally took him about 40 minutes to get home, one might think she would wait up for him. What's 10 minutes in a loving relationship! :) No, she goes upstairs to bed about 9:45 and goes to sleep. Her guy has been gone all weekend and she can't wait a few minutes to see him. Apparently, they feel no need to talk to each other about what has happened in their lives.
Then Stein knows what time she went to sleep(?). I rarely know just what time I went to sleep. I know when I go to bed, but when I go to sleep? I might have an estimate depending on how long I laid there. She appeared to have an exact time. Did she raise her head up and look at the clock just before she went into a sleep state?
I do not think Karpf was awake when the cops arrived, just Stein, who had trouble getting back to sleep.
BTW, it is Rovaan, not Rovann. But, if it is easier, you can just call me Rose.
