Tistaert did call the police after she had heard the dog barking for about 30 minutes. They told her to call animal control but they might have sent a police car around to check anyway.
The old man was "interviewed" by the police when Boztepe was still there because he talks about it in his testimony. The old man said the barking starting about 10:30pm. No police report was introduced into the trial and I suspect the detectives he talked to were Roberts and Nolan just before they took Boztepe down to the police station to give a statement.
