Thanks for the information. I didn't know all of that. I do know something about the actual Black Dahlia murder. The woman's name was Elizabeth Short. From what I've been able to learn the story of her being a prostitute was never substantiated. She had a genital defect that made intercourse impossible and a marked aversion to anything sexual. I don't know how the story circulated that she was a prostitute. I can only guess that it was because she was very pretty and so little was known about her at the time of her death and her name is so similar to one of Jack the Ripper's victims, Elizabeth Stride. Elizabeth Stride was a prostitute. I believe she was the only Ripper victim who was not mutilated. Elizabeth Short was cut in two. There is some evidence that her killer was found but never disclosed because of connections he had with the LAPD. I don't know how much of that information I can trust.
I am intrigued, however, by the similarities you found in the movies. That was also the case with evidence found at the foot of Jack the Ripper's victims (The Smoking Gun, chapter 2 - check out the movie clip). The items found at the feet of Annie Chapman were not the same as the items they showed in the 1988 made for television movie. The items in the movie have a one-to-one relationship to the items found at the feet of Ronald Goldman. There was a comb where the cap was (loose hair); a dark brown leather purse where the glove was (dark brown leather - something you put your hand in); a piece of white cloth folded in the shape of an envelope (in the same place the envelope was and in the same orientation); and unidentified object with three, round, shiny button in three different sizes in the place of the three blood drops in three different sizes leading away from the glove.
I'm going to see if I can find the Black Dahlia movie. I think it's going to be very interesting. -- Jasper
