This question has occurred to me as well. Also, it is somewhat related to why Kaelin would have gotten rid of the missing evidence -- shoes, knife, sweats.
There were no apparent marks on Kaelin's fce the next morning, at least none that Fuhrman saw and mentioned in his book. However, this does not exclude the possibility of injuries on the rest of his body. After all, there was no whole-body check of Kaelin the way there was of OJ.
I have always speculated that Kaelin was somehow wounded or bled during the fight with Goldman, and that Kaelin was then afraid that his own DNA may have gotten onthe shoes, knife or sweats. Unofortunately, all I can do is speculate. Fuhrman's description of Kaelin's overall appearance the next morning is all that we will ever have.
