I'm beginning to lean towards that too. Hard to otherwise make anything make sense.
I didn't know that about foot wear forensics. USELESS, interesting, but like we didn't know.
Something else that I have been wondering about is the rickets that OJ suffered from in childhood. He said in an interview that it made him "bowlegged and pigeon toed". My husband is a little bowlegged and I noticed when I examined his shoes that they are all much more worn on the outside than on the inside of the sole. I made the poor man wet his soles and walk on the patio floor (quite a few times) and yes, the pattern was much clearer on the outside of the shoeprint than on the inside. I don't have any other pictures of the shoeprints than what are in the books and they look like they are very evenly deposited on the ground. As you said, like a stamp.
