Chief Parks and Gil Garcetti have dropped all pretense of prosecuting these Rampart cops.
GG picks the most difficult case to prosecute for a guilty verdict. If they aren't convicted it is not likely that other prosecutions will follow.
He doesn't assign DA's until the week before, one with experience drops out a la Hodgeman with health problems.
LAPD is not turning over evidence/info to DA's, defense or to the court.
LAPD is keeping back materials until it is too late to investigate it.
Trying to block the backgrounds and prior charges and investigations against these cops.
The JUdge puts her two cents in and blocks legit witnesses to planting evidence. And bars other testimony/info turned in Late by the LAPD.
Don't expect anything to come of this trial.
They have NO Intention of prosecuting these cops and getting a conviction.
The ONE good thing to come of it is that the defense attorneys and the media and US can make hay with the WAY this is being done.
Even the LA Times compared the DA dropping out like that, turning over evidence, etc. late and some rulings to the OJ case.
