Your couldn't be more right. This is the kind of coincidence you have to accept because it is a common occurrence in our everyday experience.
Today I was looking for a connection in the movies between a detective named Mark or Steven, and a beautiful redhead who had to be a cheerleader, a flight attendant or a secretary, preferably, HIS secretary. I turned on the tube and there was The Dark Corner (1946) with Mark Stevens as a private detective being framed for murder and Lucille ball in a dramatic role as his secretary.
The fact that the movie came on as I was looking for something that had a Mark, a Steven and a redheaded secretary seem like a remarkable coincidence. But all of these other details were the reason I was looking for that movie. I expected to find things like this. I was working to a plan and the inclusion of these kinds of things were part of the plan. They had to exist somewhere. So, I was not surprised that the movie involved a frame-up. I was not surprised that the man who arranged the killing and the framing was a wealthy, possessive, jealous man married to a beautiful woman much younger than he was. It did not surprise me that she was having an affair with a younger man, that he caught them killing (this was 1946) or that the younger man was also having an affair with an older woman and would wind up dead… I had seen the movie before.
One reason I wrote the Random Factor was because of APPARENT coincidences like fining the movie I was looking for unexpectedly at the time I was looking for it. I learned that when you see these things in clusters there is always a plan associated with them. In a few extreme cases they appear to be a divine plan, but a plan, nonetheless, laid out in precise order to insure a given result. I also found that when you examine them closely you don't get nearly as many metaphysical or extra sensory explanations as you might think.
The Dark Corner, for example, is a movie I saw for the first and last time, until now, years before Ron and Nicole were killed. By the time I got around to noticing how much of the evidence in the case and how many of the stories that came out of it looked like things I'd seen in the movies, I couldn't think of the name of the movie or the lead male actor. I kept thinking he was Fred MacMurray, Humphrey Bogart or Dick Powel. But I couldn't find a movie with any of them and Lucille Ball, so I gave up.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed something about a redheaded woman in the fourth episode of Police Squad! that reminded me of what Mark Fuhrman said about a cheerleader at his brother's high school. My Webtv allows me to search a week ahead on programs and record the ones I want to see. I had programs scheduled to record earlier and later than The Dark Corner. You can see right there that I probably saw it listed a week earlier and took a subconscious note. I'll bet you anything that my subconscious mind remembered the title, the actors, the action AND the time it was going to be shown on television.
So much for an amazing coincidence. --Jasper
