There appears to be another turn in the story. The kid who said the girls ran away was telling the truth. However, it now appears that were kids were, in fact, kidnapped near the school and taken for the long walk to the eastside that they told everyone about.
When we get the full story and we can be sure we have gotten the full story, too things will not have changed: 1) Except for Channel 4's Mike Lewis the media didn't care what happened to those kids. 2) The women who rescued Sherelle are still heroes.
I left out something. The police I saw on the job and the ones I dealt with personally are still assholes. They didn't try to talk to the people in the neighborhood where the kids were last reported seen. I now for sure that they didn't because I'm the one who did. While I was going from door to door passing out pictures of the kids, describing what they were wearing and asking people to call the police if they learned anything useful, I saw one police car. The cop on the passenger side stopped me and asked if I had seen two missing girls… When I told him who I was and what I was doing they drove away. These jokers never got out of their car. --Jasper
