Jasper, As I noted on the Iago site, I have been struck by the fact that it is the Dems or Lib pundits who have had the MOST to say and the Strongest things to say about Condit's possible guilt or innocence.
I don't know Why this is. In times past, these very same pundits, laywers and reporters could have been counted on to take a completely different tack. To make excuses no matter how bad the behavior.
I am struck by the presence of Terry Lenzner (Clinton's PI service who did investigation, surveillance, harassing and many other things during the Monica deal). I am wondering if he during that time of looking for damaging info on Congressmen and Senators found out a great deal of unsavory info on Condit.
It has long been suspected that Clinton tipped off the media years ago about Gary Hart and Donna Rice. Rice was a on again off again girl friend of Don Henley (Eagles singer) and Clinton was having dinner with Don Henley in LA the very night that Donna Rice got "caught" with Gary Hart. Biographers said Clinton had a pure hatred for Hart due to what he considered Hart "getting away" with affairs whereas he always got caught. Neither Flowers nor Monica were the First time Clinton got caught. Clinton was obsessed with it as biographers report.
I am wondering if in the long run we find that since Condit spoke against Clinton over the Monica deal, if an obsessed Bill Clinton didn't go off on the fact that Condit was living this secret life and not getting caught.
When Chandra disappeared, all these folks (like Lenzner and others--) might have been mobilized by Clinton's people to dump on him.
Clinton's "psyche' actually contains a great deal of "payback".
Merridth Oakley of the ARkansas Democrat Gazette who wrote a bio on him has written many times that a search of the old Arkansas Dem Gazette archieves would find a huge long list of paybacks where Clinton's critics have ended up ruined, arrested, emprisoned, sued, trashed and bashed, divorced, bankrupt and in some cases dead. She says it has been going on from the beginning (78 or so).
About the phone calls. Sure he could have done that. Kept calling to throw people off. Depends on if he killed her, had her killed, or knows nothing about it. But maybe not. If he truly thought nobody knew of the affair, he might not have bothered.
What has to be considered (just like in OJ) is it likely that some serial killer plucks her out while she is in the midst of this turmoil with Condit and while she is pressuring Condit?
In OJ's case, it was is it likely OJ --out of the blue--kills her while she is in this swirl of drugs, ify friends, perhaps owing a large amt for drugs, etc.
Condit--from all reports ---has about 30 years of affairs to cover for. Multiple affairs going on at the same time.
I have also heard that Both Condit children (adults) were in a position to know Chandra (an intern for both Reordin (sp) of LA and Gray Davis yet they deny knowing her.
He owned a car in DC and either lied or omitted that info from the police. (it was assumed he had no way around without a driver)
I have been shocked and stunned and frankly worn out to learn of his lifestyle of having mulitple affairs, traveling back and forth to CA each and every weekend (at least 6 hrs each way plus the packing and unpacking), doing his job, going on dates, going to the gym, etc.
Do you know how much ENERGY it requires to keep all this straight?
BTW, I found it interesting that the self-same Don Henley "partied" (drugs) with Nicole and Faye that spring. The man who shows up at every Clinton fundp-raiser since the beginning. And perhaps helped him set up Gary Hart. Henley who perhaps also had connections with Keith z. and Heidi as Heidi said Clinton was a customer as well.
This could at least be why certain folks didn't want to go to the drugs and Heidi side of this case. Didn't know where it would lead.
