Of course there are problems with listing an adult as missing right away and treating like a crime but in the long run I think it would be beneficial.
The Levy's did tell the cops the first day about the affair and they kept quiet publicly (as they were asked to do) until after the first interview when he denied a relationship.
What is important is not the affair but the fact that somebody who had daily contact with Chandra tell all he knew about her whereabouts the last time he saw her and any possible plans she had. Denying the relationship made it impossible for Condit to tell any info that he had about the time period she went missing.
The author of the Talk article that will be coming out is asking an excellent question on LKL last night--one I have hinted at with talk of the phone records and when did Condit stop trying to contact her.
She asked: Why didn't Condit report her missing himself?
IN that 5-6 day period of time from May 1 to May 6th when the Levy's first called him, didn't he notice that his "mistress" wasn't around? That he couldn't get in contact with her or that she wasn't getting in contact with him?
And of course the cops go after the person that the affair is with. They are more likely to have information than anybody else is.
And the cops need to know the status of that affair. Was it on-going? Had they argued? What about? Were there others (like other lovers for either) involved who could have been jealous or angry? Were there threats made---either way? Was the person depressed or happy?
And it goes on and on.
And regardless of the other sexual stuff coming out--true or not--Condit had a lifetime of affairs that he was protecting from the public and perhaps from his family. I personally can't believe that the family had no idea that he had multiple affairs over a 30 year period --with there being more than one sometimes at a time.
Or is it possible that some person "around" Condit took it upon themselves to rid him of this problem with Chandra? A family member? A staffer? Another lover? A friend? A political backer?
