Jerry Spense gave a very logical explanation as to why Condit did not say affair in the beginning and he says it goes to his innocense in her disappearence. He thought that she had gone off someplace and thought she would turn back up. He would have admitted the affair at the beginning if he were involved as he would know it would come out.
Another thing is that he said he was having coffee with a reporter on May 1 and it comes out it was May 2. An easy mistake. And would have been stupid to lie about since at the time period he was on the floor voting twice between 6 and 6:30 on May 1. If he were involed he certainly would remember his iron clad alibi of being seen and recorded voting.
