The hammer is Thor's weapon. It did not escape my attention that Mark Fuhrman talked a lot about beating people up (hammering them) and that he used his investigation of the hammer killing of a black man to "prove" he wasn't a racist. It was a case that popped up "coincidentally" between his testimony in the criminal trial and O.J.'s civil trial. I couldn't find dates more specific than that, but you can find out more about that death and its connection to television (RoboCop and Dragnet) in The Smoking Gun 2.
All of the Nose gods were war gods. They lived for war in preparation for a fight they knew they were destined to have with the Frost Giants. They also knew that they were going to lose and that they would be brought down by a traitor. --Jasper
