Jean,
This is one of the biggest tragedies of the case.
Dr. Johnson discovered a discrepancy in the phone records and the testimony of Juditha Brown, Karen Crawford and Denise Brown. There was also a discrepancy between what the records showed and what Marcia Clark said they showed.
Dr. Johnson interpreted these discrepancies to mean one of the records was faked and another one was missing. The tragedy is he went though a lot of trouble to get a phone record that agreed with Juditha Brown's first statement of having talked to Nicole at 11:00 - a phone record that he insists with badly flawed logic must exist. He then trashed the records his efforts turned up - records that proved Nicole was alive when Marcia Clark said she was dead.
The trouble was, the plaintiffs were now agreeing with the defense's original timeline for the murders and arguing that Kato was wrong about when he heard the thumps - giving O.J. the bare minimum of five minutes he would have needed to be a possible suspect. So, instead of gong with the records that proved the original case, the defense decided to move their timeline ahead by a half an hour, thus proving that nobody could have killed Ron and Nicole and framed O.J. Simpson. -Jasper
