Let me get this in before Jean and Kari come down on my head--and they will.
Although I can agree that Bush 41 had his problems with the Middle East, I limited my remarks to what I call the Terror Years.
There has been a escalation of the terrorist attacks from the get go of when Clinton go into office starting with the WTC bombing. Granted that might be a carryover from the Gulf War. I am not disputing that at all.
What I am saying is that I think the terrorists saw Clinton as somebody who would NOT fight them back. He was a known military hater and VN protester and draft dodger. I think they used it to their advantage and when you come right down to it there WERE only symbolic missile strikes in retaliation. Even when Saddam did something, a missile would get lobbed hundreds of miles away into an empty desert.
If my suspicions (and other people's as well) that not only the WTC bombing but the Okla City Bombing had MId Eastern connections, the TWA 800, the EgyptAir, and perhaps the SwissAir as well, the 2 embassy bombings in Africa and perhaps others ALL had Mid Eastern Terrorist stamp on them and it was kept from us, I think the Clinton Admin. put their OWN needs and wants OVER the security of the US.
And let me add one more incident that I have always been highly suspicious of. And that is the crash of Ron Brown's plane over Croatia. Many Muslims are in that area. And before somebody accuses me of Racial Profiling, let me tell you why. The plane held the US Commerce Secr. and a plane load of top US businessmen. The "official explanation" was flawed from the beginning and I won't go into it here but there is much to say it was a shoot down or at the very least a sabotaged plane on landing.
And to add to what my suspicions already were, I learned something yesterday that I had no idea was true. I learned that in the Croatia/ Bosnis area is a VERY large group of Islam Fundamentalists. And that it has been learned they recently got messages to "report for duty" to Bin Laden.
I don't totally blame this only on the Clinton Admin. I know of plenty of Reps who suspected just this and for the most part kept quiet--for a multitude of reasons---the economy being a big one.
My focus has been the 8 year period of history since the FIRST terrorist atack on American Soil at the WTC in 93 and what happened after that and how it was handled.
I am perfectly willing to discuss this but AM UNWILLING to go back and discuss how Christopher Columbus mistreated the Indians and he was probably a Republican.
