Nicole must have known that Faye was in rehab when she talked to Ron, so she could not have suggested a 3 way. Could be that she was thinking of a little love, planning a little seduction when talking to Ron on the phone. But I find it hard to believe that she filled the bathtub, lit the candles, got into that mood while the kids were in the next room, still awake. Then again, who knows. There's the car, parked a block away, and if Ron was only planning to drop off the glasses, why not just stop in front of the gate, ring the bell and hand the envelope with the glasses through the gate.
The Mezzaluna bartender, Tanner, was rather vague about how and when and if to meet with Ron that night, but the guys who left messages on Ron's answering machine were not.
Those messages were urgent, repeated and even worried. They were waiting for him. The first was at "almost ten", the last one on that evening (as far as we know) was at 10.15. As those guys never testified, we don't know if Ron returned their calls. That would have been interesting to know.
