One of the reasons that cops marry nurses is that they happen to meet a lot. Cops come into the emergency room a lot and get to know the nurses.
And there also happens to be a kind of mutual admiration between them.
I am not a nurse but was an Xray tech. My experience with cops was not so good but kind of funny. Late one night they brought me a patient in hand cufffs to find a bullet. Being inexperienced, and the best they had cause the experienced tech was in the emergency room since there was a big shoot out and she was working on the worst hurt patients. I had a heck of a time finding it and had to keep taking pictures. So I would go develope my film and changes where made. First time the cop guarding him was gone and his girlfriend was there. Then in a while I came out and his handcuffs where off. Now I was all alone with a person with handcuffs and a guard and ended up with a person without handcuffs and a strange woman off in an empty part of the hospital and having a hell of a time finding a bullet. I finally found it and sent him away.
My next patient was one of the cops in the shoot out that had been shot in the toe. I was mad and jumped all over this guy with the bleeding toe.
He laughted and explained that my former patient was just a by stander and got shot in a cross fire. They had to hand cuff him and drag him to the hospital. I doubt if I did much to reasure him that hospitals where OK places, where he left glowing from an inexperienced tech. I was not a cop groupie like so many hospital workers. And later I saw how they turned murder into suicide several times.Didn't have to work so hard to keep from having unsolved murders on their records or they had some reason not to arrest the murderers.
