Buster,
Whenever a murder generates a lot of money it’s a good idea to follow he money trail.
Getting people to look at Mark Fuhrman as a murder suspect is next to impossible because the instant you suggest it people ASSUME that you are doing so because he used a naughty word on tape. They assume that you think he did it because of YOUR motives, not his. They think that you are being sidetracked by his racism.
I followed the money trial and it lead to Mark Fuhrman. Racism might have motivated him to fix on O.J. and Nicole as his targets, but everything he did to put himself on the case and in the spotlight says that if he did it, he did it as a grisly publicity stunt. I proposed a scenario to check that ridiculous notion, thinking that he had an alibi. I thought at the time that O.J. might have done it and Fuhrman was my least likely suspect. I was leaning toward Ron Shipp or Kato Kaelin and proposed my Fuhrman-did-it theory just to be thorough.
Then, as I do with all of my theories I tried my best to shoot each of them down. O.J. was easier to eliminate as a suspect that I thought he would be when I made a layout of his property to scale and ran thought the testimony of the various timeline witness and compared them to Allan Park’s phone records. Kato wasn’t tall enough (stride analysis of shoeprints on Bundy) and his testimony actually gave O.J. a solid alibi. Shipp looked like the best remaining candidate but he couldn’t have been in two places at the same time.
The problem I had with Fuhrman was that I didn’t know enough about him or his partner. According to my theory, the killer had to be close to O.J.’s height. He had to be able to comfortably maneuver in shoes comparable to shoes that left the bloody Silga shoeprints. He had to have a base of operations south of Nicole’s condo and drive a vehicle that fit Robert Heidstra’s description of the vehicle he saw on Dorothy turning south on Bundy. His partner had to have a smaller shoe and a deeper voice. He had to have the appearance of an alibi but no real alibi. He had to be thoroughly familiar with the way homicide investigations are conducted and how homicide detectives and prosecutors think. He had to have a sure-fire way of cashing in big on the publicity.
The list was long and the only answers I had to any of them pointed to a cop on the Bundy murder scene. I later discovered that Phillips, Lange, Vannatter and Fuhrman were the right height (6’ 2” and 6’3”). I later discovered that one of them, for sure, wore size 12 shoes – Mark Fuhrman. One of them, for sure knew, that he would be the first homicide detective called on the case – Mark Fuhrman. One of them had a base of operations south of Bundy and drove a light colored SUV – Mark Fuhrman. One of them had a partner with a smaller foot and a deeper voice – Mark Fuhrman. One of them had a “good fried” who was also a “good friend” of O.J. and Nicole. One of theme was the only person in he case who could positively be linked to the stick on the Rockingham parkway and both bloody gloves – Mark Fuhrman.
I’m sure that the killer did make out extremely well. Can’t wait for his next movie. -- Jasper
