Kari,
Thanks for the vote of confidence in the animations, how I arrived at them and what they mean. I thought that they were clear enough but you are the only one so far who has articulated a clear understanding of what I did, why I did it that way and why I couldn’t do it another way. We need something visual, dynamic and convincing. I think we have it in the animations if we can get enough of the right people to look at it.
Rose’s objections have given me a better idea of what I’m up against. I couldn’t change what she wanted me to change but I could do a better job of introducing the animations and making it harder for people to dismiss them out of had. I made the update to the introduction about an hour ago. It always catches me by surprise when honest people don’t see the things I honestly think are too obvious to explain.
I think you know that disagreements don’t bother me (even when they turn ugly for a little while) as long as they are honest. The best thing that can happen when you’re wrong is to find out that you are wrong. The worst thing that can happen when you are wrong is to convince someone that you are right. Just have to look at the crazy prosecutions we look at here (still can’t believe Michael Skakel is still in prison) to see the truth in that.
It does bother me, though, when I write something that looks harsher on the page than it did in my head when I wrote it. You can’t always get the tones and inflections that make the difference and you can’t always tell when you’ve wounded someone unless you get a reply dripping in cyberblood. I hate when I do that.
Pat V has something valuable with his letter and I think Lollie has suggested a good way to use it. Maybe we could do as she suggests and BASE our campaign on Pat’s letter. Maybe we can split it up into several parts and different people can run with different parts. What do you think?
Michael Skakel’s Kennedy cousins might be good people to add to the list. Surely one of them can see the liking between what happened to Michael and what happened to O.J. Peterson’s lawyers might also be good. And how about I-Cube and Leslie Nielsen?
Sure would like to here from Charlotte and Miss Marple on this. –Jasper
