Buster,
It WILL sound ridiculous to some people. It does not sound ridiculous to me.
Sometimes Kari and I will pick up long stings of each other’s thoughts with identical words or images. This happened recently when we were posting with Rose (Rovaan) on the What is Ron Shipp Doing Ten Yrs After thread that turned into an exchange about the first four animations. If you’re wondering how we went from Shipp to the animations go to the Iago Conspirators link at the top of the contents page and check out item # 4.
Anyhow, It takes me an average of ten minutes to write a paragraph. If you don’t refresh your screen you don’t always see the latest posts, including your own. You can tell by the timing of Kari’s posts and mine that we did not copy from each other, yet she plucked the essence of what I struggled to say out of the air at least twice and posted it before I posted mine. I didn’t see her post until I refreshed my screen.
I’m not taking about something as simple as a similar viewpoint resulting in similar replies to similar cues. I’m taking about specific words and phrases that didn’t come from anything that preceded it. It’s a running joke with us because it happens do often. She or I will often start a string unrelated to anything under discussion that contain the same phrases or imagery that was in the other’s mind. You can’t prove something like this to anyone else but we know it when we see it. And it’s not always something we agree on. Sometimes it is something that one or both of us got wrong – something that couldn’t have come from the reference material because it isn’t there.
Rose doesn’t know it but the same thing happened with us when her long-time partner Dick Wagner died of a heart attack. The night he died I was sure that I was going to die of a heart attack (I had a bad one earlier). Rose also had a paranormal experience involving Dick’s death and a possum on a driveway, of all things. I couldn’t get into it the way I wanted to at the time but Dick and I were just beginning to come together on crucial aspects of the O.J. case involving O.J.’s driveway. He found some mistakes I made and I found mistakes he made. His layout of O.J.’s estate was not to scale and it made a huge difference in his reconstruction of events on Rockingham. I was counting heavily on him because he was an engineer. He knew what I was talking about and he knew how to make the corrections on his own. It’s a hell of a lot of work and he died before he could finish them.
A few weeks after I had my near-fatal heart attack someone posted that I was dead.
I know this is a long way around to your point about the thumps being a paranormal event. I just want to be sure you understand why I take your observation seriously.
It never occurred to me that the thumps were made by Nicole’s spirit because I saw two valid explanations that didn’t involve the supernatural. I) Kato invented them. 2) Someone deliberately produced them in a way that would make anyone who reported them accurately sound like a liar. Now I have another reason to consider for making the thumps in such an unnatural way: To create the IMPRESSION of a supernatural event. Since you mentioned it, it sure sounds like a message from beyond. For people who think that anyone who reports such things is either lying or crazy, the effect is the same. You will note that Marcia CHANGED the thumps to fit her scenario. –Jasper
