Kari,
Many people surrounding O.J. and Nicole might have wanted to kill one and frame the other for political reasons but for practical reasons the list gets very short.
Nobody involved in covert surveillance operations or high-level political intrigue wants a high profile murder investigation of a suspect with the resources to fight back. If O.J. were the target of a plan sponsored by a government or criminal enterprise he would have been dead a long time ago – probably the apparent victim of a suicide, a fatal disease or a fatal accident.
Just look at the deaths surrounding John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Hoffa and Vince Foster. All of these deaths were either calculated or “coincidentally” timed to hide a political agenda, not to highlight one – or two – or ten. The Bundy murders highlighted so many of them that you can take you pick of which one you want and find plenty of evidence to support it. That’s why I concluded that the killer wanted publicity for himself and used the political intrigue surrounding O.J. as cover. That’s why I zeroed in on Kato, Shipp and finally Fuhrman. That’s why my focus narrowed to Fuhrman when I found out how tall he was, his shoe size, the way he walked, the SUV he drove, the alibi he didn’t have, the access he had to inside information and to all of the incrimination evidence, etc.
The fame, fortune and political influence Fuhrman could ANTICIPATE by way of his role in the investigation and the murder trial gave me practical reasons the murder/frame-up would work. Everybody would be looking for either a big conspiracy or no conspiracy (popular beliefs about political assassination conspiracies). The more I learned about The LAPD, the California Justice System and the mindsets of prosecutors in general the easier it was to see the predictability of their conduct with the evidence left by the killer. The easier it then became to see how Fuhrman’s, discoveries, theories, letter to the city attorney and crime scene notes made him a sure bet to become a media star. That’s why I gobbled up Chris Springer’s book solely on the strength of the title If O.J. Didn’t…
I didn’t know about the Russian Mafia MO with disposing of bodies. I did know that they specialized in kidnapping relatives of very wealthy people and killing the victim – but the did not target celebrities, just extremely wealthy people. I also thought they pulled this stunt in Central or South America. I didn’t know any cases in the Untied States. In any event, news stories and movies are so full of bodies wrapped in plastic (Twin Peaks, Psycho, Innocent Blood) that the method of body disposal Fuhrman attributed to O.J. could have come from anywhere. My best guess is that it came from movies. –Jasper
