He used to be the drummer for Iron Butterfly and had been doing some work with the Jackson Brothers. His work with the Jackson brothers was about science, not music. His name was I believe Phillip Taylor Kramer. I believe he also had some connection with the Sheen family but I am unsure of that. I know he appeared to be on his way to Agoura Hills when he made his telephone call. He and his van were found over Dead Man's Curve. The same place Jan of Jan and Dean had an accident was found and taken to the hospital and he survived. Not finding Phillip Taylor Kramer for so many years over Dead Man's Curve is suspicious indeed since the police check it often for people who have gone missing as an accident can occur and no one see it unless someone looks if the car got caught on something as it appeared Phillip Taylor Kramer's van went. Problems I believe are the van had a different VIN number and some of the stuff in the van was the wrong stuff. Wrong clothes on the remains, etc. They gave no credibility to his statement that O.J. was innocent citing his sleep deprivation. Since the murders he had been upset and nervous.
