Buster,
It seems to me that someone did go into the house to plant the jacket but came right back out. It’s a common garment and it was a cool night. It shouldn’t have been a big deal and it wouldn’t have been unless it implicated someone other than O.J. Simpson.
The things that matter about the jacket are the size, the label and trace evidence, like hair around the collar. If it were O.J.’s size with a label traceable to O.J. and it had a black man’s hair on it, it would have implicated him if he hadn’t worn it to the airport. The fact that he did wear it to the airport would implicate Ron Shipp (O.J.’s size, O.J. hair, intimate knowledge of O.J.). If it were too big for O.J. it could have meant that AC or Marcus Allen left it there. It would not have implicated them in the murders because they had alibis (and their feet were probably too big for the shoeprints).
It doesn’t add up that anyone would have taken the jacket off on the night of the 12th and left without taking it with him. It doesn’t add up that Fuhrman would take it unless he knew it could no longer work the way the knit cap did. Thus, the disappearing jacket and the materializing knife. –Jasper
