Spring,
When Riske went into the condo bathroom shortly after he arrived at 12:15 the bathtub was full of water. When he went in again with Fuhrman shortly after Fuhrman arrived at 2:10 the bathtub was full of water. When Vannatter went into the bathroom a little after he arrived at 4:05 the water was gone.
The official story is that stopper was faulty and the water drained away on its own.
So, we are suppose to believe that the stopper held the water from around 10:30 p.m. on the 12th to around 2:10 a.m. on the 13th (about three and a half hours) and went bad somewhere between 2:10 and 4:05.
Unlike the pizza note, the water gives no space to add to the story if needed. It tells its own story (along with the romantic music and the candles around the tub), which contradicts the story of Ron simply stopping by to drop off the glasses. The pizza note and the “pizza” menu tell the same story. But it allows the storyteller to tell it at his convenience without compromising the story of the glasses when it was needed to make Ron’s appearance at the condo look like a surprise for the killer. –Jasper
