You recently posted a criticism of my theory of the crime, syaing that Ferrara did, after all, have a clock available that she looked at b3cause Kaelin had told her to call the cops after ten ten mintes, and she had not called the cops, and therefore hd to know when ten minutes had past.
One has to read her whole testimony to get the feel of RF's sense of duration, but these are her actual words on the topin:
: YES. JUST BEFORE HE HUNG UP WITH YOU DID HE GIVE YOU SOME INSTRUCTION?
A: YES.
Q: AND WHAT WAS THAT?
A: HE SAID IF HE DOESN'T CALL BACK IN TEN MINUTES TO CALL THE POLICE.
Q: COULD YOU TELL WHETHER HE WAS JOKING OR SERIOUS?
MR. COCHRAN: OBJECT. CALLS FOR SPECULATION.
THE COURT: WHY DON'T YOU REPHRASE THE QUESTION.
Q: BY MS. CLARK: WHAT WAS HIS TONE OF VOICE WHEN HE TOLD YOU THAT?
A: IT WAS -- I DON'T REMEMBER.
Q: I'M SORRY?
A: I DON'T REMEMBER HIS TONE OF VOICE. IT WASN'T URGENT.
Jasper, please note.
Q: WERE YOU CONCERNED?
A: NOT AT THE MOMENT, NOT AS MUCH.
Please note.
Q: DID HE INDICATE AT ANY POINT THAT HE WANTED TO GO OUT AND FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED THE NOISE?
A: YES.
Q: AND ABOUT WHAT TIME WAS IT THAT YOU HUNG UP?
A: APPROXIMATELY 10:50.
Q: DID YOU EVER HEAR BACK FROM MR. KAELIN THAT NIGHT AFTER YOU HUNG UP AT 10:50?
A: YES.
Q: AND WHAT TIME WAS IT APPROXIMATELY WHEN YOU HEARD BACK FROM HIM?
A: I WOULD SAY APPROXIMATELY [note 'approximately'] 11:05, FIVE AFTER 11:00.
Q: I'M SORRY?
A: FIVE AFTER 11:00.
IOW, fifteen mniutes. For this reason, I must reject your criticism, since I consider that I have refuted it. There is no indication that RF had her own clock, and other parts of her testimony show she exclusively relied on Kaelin to know the time.
