So, you're still hanging on to that bit about Fuhrman's “anything unusual” question being routine two and a half miles away from the murder scene. Please cite ONE example of where you have seen this in circumstances similar to the ones surrounding Fuhrman’s question to Kato? Maybe you have only seen something close enough to make you THINK you've seen it.
Fuhrman planted ideas left and right that sounded like something he said but when you go back and read his words you find that he subtly suggested them; he didn’t say them. What he did say was often a self-serving lie.
The man lied repeatedly. He exaggerated greatly He testified to seeing and doing things on Bundy and Rockingham that only his partner confirmed AFTER the trial. In the preliminary hearing he lied about who his partner was. Why on earth should anyone in his right mind expect him to say anything to suggest that he led Kato into telling him about the thumps? That’s not to say he did; it says that we have only his word that he didn’t. Considering his track record and his vested interest in lying if Charlie’s guess is correct, his word isn’t good enough.
Where does it get us to quote Fuhrman’s version of events word for word. What makes Fuhrman the final arbiter of truth on conflicting testimony?
I think that Charlie has a copy of Murder in Brentwood. I know that Miss Marple and I do. I also believe that most visitors to this site are familiar with Fuhrman’s version of what happened in and around Kato’s bungalow. We want to hear Kato’s version.
You have made frequent references to Marc Eliot’s book. That’s the book we don’t have. Miss Marple’s copy is still on its way to Canada from South America. Tell us John, what does Kato say (by way of Marc Eliot) about his June 13 encounter with Fuhrman? –Jasper
