It was Fuhrman.
Kato didn’t say which questions Fuhrman asked him. He only gave his answers. This is what I mean by “context….”
Again, from Murder in Brentwood (page 30-31): “While I looked around the room, I asked him his name, WHERE HE WAS LAST NIGHT AND OTHER ROUTINE QUESTIONS. There was a pile of clothes and pair of boots next to the bed. With his permission I inspected the boots, checking for blood and the design of the sole. There was no blood, and the sole didn’t resemble the shoeprints at the Bundy scene. ”
How many questions? What does Fuhrman call routine? His fellow detectives had already asked Kato his name and “other routine questions.”
(Page 31): “I kept asking Kaelin questions in no particular logical order. I ASKED HIM WHAT HE DID LAST NIGHT.” This is where Kato’s answer plugs in.
Q: He asked you what clothing you wore the night before?
A: Yeah. And I still was--I couldn't figure out what he was talking about, so--but I was showing him everything, and I was kind of talking very high energy and going, "I don't know if it means anything"; I told him about this noise I heard....
How could Kato hide anything without looking like he was trying to hide something? No way. How could Kato answer Fuhrman’s question of what he did the night before without telling him about the thumps? No way. –Jasper
