he did that for exactly the same reason cops do that -- it's known as 'testiflying'. He was leaving himself 'wiggle room' for changes and retractions. It worked. He made significant changes between his criminal and civil rial tesimony.

Read the passages again, Lollie. Fuhramn did NOT say 'Did you hear anything unusual'. He asked 'Did anything unusual happen?' big difference.
Also, in the context you're referring to, the 'he' Fuhrman is asking about driving is OJ, not Kaelin.
"At the time wouldn't his driving the bronco be more important (Did he ever answer that question about the driving the Bronco)?..."
Kaelin was specifically asked if he had ever driven the Bronco by Vannatter as he was being interviewed in the kitchen area while Fuhrman was going down the south path. Kaelin said No. Details and quotes and page number from the eliot book are on my web page.

That would have been enough to 'justify' fuhrman's question about OJ driving the Bronco the night before.
