Jasper,
What if there were no blood or other drops on the foyer floor (yet)? Kaelin, through Elliot, said that the pine floor in the foyer had dark dots laid into the pattern and that when the detective, (fuhrman?) told him to look out for the blood, Kato at first couldn't see them for all the other dots. Perfect scenario for the creator of impressions.
Fuhrman wrote in his book that he and Brad led Kato, Arnelle, Cowlings and the kids out through the patio door and the Ashford gate "to keep foot traffic away from the blood evidence we had just found near the front door."
