Thanks, Junot, you are right. I just was thinking of the wrong city.
It has been a while since I thought about this but I know the station has a website and perhaps the radio host that brought Fuhrman on board. Several years ago, he and I had a heated exchange of emails. It might be possible to listen over the net now. That would explain how somebody who lives in San Diego could be a regular listener and caller.
