Miss Marple,
The broadcast doesn’t have Roberts saying anything about the sweats in the mashing machine but the way the film is edited it looks to me as though that portion of the interview was left on the cutting room floor.
Sawyer goes from Roberts talking about blood on the light switch to her voiceover about talking to Det. Haro (about 5 seconds), to her saying “How about the dark sweats Roberts saw in the washer…” It looks from the editing of the broadcast that she got her information for the hard cover edition of Murder in Brentwood. She speaks as though she assumes everyone has read it.
There are several ways of beating a lie detector test, especially if you have no compunctions about doing it. Fuhrman can have it both ways with the question about who found the sweats in the washing machine by saying that Brad found them first and he (Fuhrman) found that his partner was right because he found them, too.
See how easy that was? –Jasper
