I told this to Hyeguy years ago before he passed away and someone took his name over who was a very awful person. When I was about fourteen my family went to Tahoe in May or June. We figured it was going to be cooler than the Valley but not snow. Guess What? Snow. So my parents had to buy six new pairs of hiking boots. The store had this knock off hush puppies. The sole, exactly like the alleged Bruno Magli sole. Now, I admit this was in the late Sixties early seventies. I doubt they stopped making them as Hush Puppie now makes womens shoes as well. The top of the shoes were suede and looked just like Hush Puppies. That sole they stated was so rare in reality is one of the most common of soles of shoes on the West Coast. Why didn't anyone else come forward?
