Maybe there was a reason Kato and OJ did not say they saw each other. We often speculate that cops lied in this case. Yet even though we believe OJ did not commit these murders, we give little thought to things OJ or Kato might have lied about to protect themselves.
When you read Kato's deposition in the Civil trial, he talks in circles (common for him) and almosts admits he saw OJ when he came out the north path. Said he could not remember if it was the first trip or the second when he saw OJ.
In your animations, there is about 23 seconds from when Park sees Kato and when he sees OJ. That seems too long. I do not consider 23 seconds to be an accurate representation of "simultaneously" or "a few seconds". Park says Kato was just standing there on the north path when he saw OJ.
In this case, OJ and Kato have more reason to not tell the truth than Park did.
The important piece is where Kato was when Park saw OJ. Park says on the north path. Kato would not have been on the north path if he had already gone down to the south path. He would have been on the driveway.
