Hodel's main theory is that it was his father, who was a doctor that comitted this crime and others, with the help of a close friend. His father was sexually perverted and very much into violent sex. Hodel believes his father killed at least nine women and was a serial killer. Tamar, his father's daughter had reported to the police that she was forced into group sex by her father. Dr. Hodel was later acquited on these charges. There has been some indication that Dr. Hodel was a suspect in the Black Dehlia murders from the start and his house was bugged by the police. The killings in the LA area stopped when Dr. Hodel moved out of the country. There are some researchers that think Steve Hodel is just angry with his father for abandoning him when he was young. They say the picture in his father's small album was not a picture of the Black Dehlia. To me, it does not matter whether or not it was her picture. The man obviously had some interest in either her or someone who looked like her. He would not be the first serial killer who killed someone whose appearance was similar to another person.
I wondered if Tippen and Carr were given this notarious case after the Simpson case or if they were already assigned before.
