Actually, for the past two months I have been livng with a doctor's statement that I "probably have bladder cancer". I can even produce the writen report.
Well, it took two months to arrange a cystoscopy (I told my friends "They're going to shove a camera up my dick". Actually, it was a catheter with a very tiny camera at the end. Not painful, but not something you would want to do for fun, either.) which proved that no, I did NOT have bladder cancer, after all. Keep this in mind when reading medical opinions -- more on that point later.
I also don't have colon cancer, though I did just have a precancerous growth removed from said organ about three weeks ago.
I am VERY diabetic, but have my blood sugar under so-so control with insulin shots. I will be taking classes in diet and excercise in a few weeks.
I never have completely recovered the stamina I had before a case of pneumonia in 2000 and a heart valve replacement in 2001, and it's possible I never will. I once worked in warehouses and construction. Those days are gone for good.

And maybe Japer is right that I am lacking in tact. And also that I was neglecting just how sore and grief-stricken you still are, and shouldn't have been quite so rough.
I have always been that way, Rose. I remember back in college, some friends and I were discussing the Viet Nam war and one of us said that we shouldn't be there because it was a Vietnamese civil war and we had no business being in some other countriy's civil war.
To which a friend replied, "All wars are civil wars, because all men are bothers."
I which I immediately replied, "All hiring is nepotism, because all men are brothers."
That's the best story I can think of to demnstrate my sense of humor and world view.

Don't worry about it Rose. The fact is, forensic science can't use things like body temperature and stomach contents to fix the time of death closer than about two hours, and certainly not to the precision of 15 minutes.
For one thing, we can't be sure to the minute exactly when Goldman took his last bite of food. Nor can we know other things - like, say, indigestion - that might have affected Goldman's rate of digestion. Also remeber that since digestion is a chemical process, it continues after death for as long as the body is warm enough to sustain chemical and microbial action.
If there is one thing all of us should have learned through these years, it that we shouldn't take ANY stement unskeptically. Not even from certified experts testifying udner oath.
